My name is Jordan L Shama, and I’m 23 years old. Born and raised in the UK, I grew up in a loving family with three older sisters. Although I grew up in christian family, my journey to faith has not been easy.

Roots in Faith
I come from a family with a profound vision. My parents, inspired by a calling from God, made the courageous decision to build an orphanage and hospitality center in India, focusing on helping the poor. Although my mother, father and sisters and I embraced this mission, I struggled with my own faith. It was the faith of my parents that I leaned on, rather than cultivating my own relationship with God.
A New Chapter in California
To escape the weight of expectation and search for my identity, I turned to basketball. This passion led me to California, where I lived for three transformative years. Initially, it felt like I had everything I ever wanted—freedom, friends, and a bright future. However, despite the surface-level success, I experienced a growing emptiness inside me.
The Injury
Then came the injury. Suddenly, the sport I loved was taken from me, and with it, the dreams I had built began to crumble. This was a pivotal moment in my life, leading me to question everything. I found myself praying for guidance, seeking reassurance from God amidst my turmoil.
A Turning Point
Finding Peace In my darkest hour, I felt a profound peace wash over me, despite the chaos surrounding my life. I realized that life and death are in God’s hands and that nothing earthly can be taken with us when we die. This understanding of the temporary nature of life ignited a desire in me for something eternal and everlasting.
Discovering God’s Love
During this time of reflection, I came across John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life." This verse struck a chord deep within me. It was a revelation of God’s immense love for humanity, knowing that we cannot achieve perfection or holiness on our own. It was through His Son that we are offered salvation—an invitation to be reconciled with our Father.
A New Commitment
This realization transformed my perspective. I promised to serve Jesus wholeheartedly until my last breath, embracing my role as both a child and servant of God. With this newfound faith, I felt compelled to share the peace and love I had discovered with others.
Spreading the Truth
I believe it is essential to tell others about the truth that has set me free. As it is written, "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." My mission now is to spread the Kingdom of God, sharing the joy and love that come from a life rooted in faith.
Conclusion
My journey in faith has been one of struggle, doubt, and ultimately, transformation. It has taught me that even amidst challenges, there is a God who loves us deeply and offers us eternal hope. I invite you to join me in this journey, to seek the truth, and to embrace the everlasting love that God has for each of us.
As I continue this journey, I remain committed to sharing my experiences and the powerful message of faith. May we all find the peace and purpose that comes from knowing Him.
