Walking in the Truth: A Journey of Faith and Service

In my previous blog, I shared my journey of faith, highlighting the challenges of leaving behind my life in the UK and the USA to serve in India. However, the most profound challenge has been learning to walk in the truth—especially after my wife, Anjana, and I were anointed as youth pastors. This transition opened my eyes to the importance of truth in ministry and life.

The Calling to Seek the Truth

When Anjana and I stepped into our roles, there was excitement in the air. Young leaders were stepping up to connect with the youth and children, and it felt like the perfect fit. However, a pivotal moment came when a man of God shared an invaluable piece of wisdom: “Seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). While many seek worldly possessions through this verse, he challenged us to seek God’s truth and wisdom instead.

That night, I prayed earnestly, asking God to reveal His truth to me. I wanted to walk in the truth, guided by His Word. Since then, I’ve committed myself to this pursuit, realizing that many today are busy building their own ministries, often losing sight of the Kingdom of God.

The Foundation of Ministry

I learned that I do not possess the strength or capability to establish my own ministry. Instead, I serve in the ministry of Jesus Christ, who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). His sacrifice and resurrection revealed the path of truth I am called to follow.

Unfortunately, as I began preaching this truth, I faced pushback from various members of our church and community. Some questioned how we could take our walk with God seriously, especially considering the urgency of His return. I emphasized that we cannot be of this world while serving Him.

Challenges of Truth in Ministry

As I took the opportunity to hold meetings in different cities, I sought guidance from God on the messages that needed to be shared. However, not everyone was pleased with my focus on the truth rather than church politics or personal agendas. Many felt I should have aligned my teachings with specific church doctrines.

I reminded them that our role as pastors is to shepherd the bride of Christ. It is essential that we guide individuals to rely on Him, not on human leaders. My goal has always been to teach children and youth to be followers of Christ, emphasizing personal relationships with Him rather than dependence on any church or pastor.

A New Journey: Trusting God

Just a week after Anjana and I got married, we embarked on a journey across various states and cities, sharing God’s Word and our testimonies. This experience has been eye-opening, teaching me the true meaning of walking by faith, not by sight. There were moments when we didn’t know where we would sleep or what we would eat, yet God always provided.

Through this journey, I’ve learned that believing in Jesus is not a one-time event. It is an ongoing commitment that we must renew daily. Our faith is what sustains us through challenges, allowing us to lean on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This aligns with the scripture that reminds us to take up our cross daily to follow Him.

Conclusion: The Path to Freedom

Walking in the truth requires unwavering trust in God’s plans. It is a journey filled with challenges, but it is also liberating. As we embrace the truth, we find freedom—freedom from the burdens of this world and the lies that can ensnare us.
